Warning of the Globe

The theme of the 4th Guandu International Outdoor Art Festival was: Land, Water and Culture. Eight artists from around the globe were selected for the exhibition. Artists had to create an installation in 10 days with bamboo, and whatever natural material was available at Guandu Nature Park.

Warning of the Globe is a literal warning to viewers about global warming. Two contrasting globes were made, one using printed cloth, representing the manmade world, another using natural material, representing the natural world. Both were anchored in a small fresh-water pond. If the water level rises, the globes will disintegrate.
