The concept of project “Cost Guard” relates to the dense mangrove forests in the coasts of West bengal, in the Sunderban area. Life, character and construction of mangrove trees
were found to portray the essence of the theme well.

Mangroves have aerial roots known to grow above the ground, propagating almost horizontally. They stabilize their surroundings, and create a community for other plants
and animals to survive. As their roots are partially under water and partly above land, they
are widely adaptable. Their growth never depends on the typical manner of trees, they can grow by absorbing oxygen from the air directly and nutrients through roots submerged in water. Moreover the presence of mangroves has been reported to help buffer against cyclones, flooding, and other coastal disasters. It is known to bind coastal land more effectively than anything else. Survival in adverse conditions, without human attention
or intereference, and nurturing the environment around, mangroves are an extraordinary example of mother Nature’s divinity.
